If you can make it to Chislehurst Library (in its temporary home at Hornbrook House) tomorrow at 11am, I’d love to see you! I’ll be talking about why I chose to set #TheForgottenBookClub on Royal Parade.

Happy 2nd Birthday to our mummy and baby bear, Agnes and Hope! 🐻πŸ₯³
Agnes is named after Agnes Whyte, who generously donated the Chislehurst woodlands to the community on 7th October 1938. Hope is named after a black bear who once roamed the forests of Minnesota.

Pia & Barbara had a busy morning! 8 Cubs & Akela Judy helped clean & turn on the drinking fountain. They spoke to the public about #WorldWaterDay, giving out refillable bottles and balloons.
Next the cubs cleaned mud from the raised bed, did a litter pick in Whytes Wood and watered the hazel whips.

World Water Day raises awareness of the need for clean water. With rising scarcity, it’s vital to appreciate this resource. In the UK, we’re lucky to have easy accessβ€”like our fountain in #Chislehurst Rec! Join us Saturday at 10 AM as we turn it back on with the Cubs while handing out FREE bottles.

New Trees for the Bird Sanctuary! 🌳

Team Hedges/Tumosa and Barbara planted two Wild Service Trees (Sorbus torminalis) in the bird sanctuaryβ€”one for each of our hardworking DofE lads. A fitting way to mark the end of their woodland management work πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yesterday, our Environment and Biodiversity group with IdVerde, spent two productive hours tackling holly along the stream banks and building dead hedges in Walden Woods. This was our final session this side of the summer and the transformation is noticeable. We even have water trickling.

Contractors are replacing the broken fence by the playground in Chislehurst Rec. They should finish mending the right side by the end of the day. Once completed, please be careful and do not let your children climb the fence, as it may not be stable yet. Thank you.

Where’s Wally the Walden Rec white squirrel 🐿️?

We haven’t seen him for quite a while, so it’s nice to know he’s still around. He was last spotted in a garden adjacent to the Rec. Have you seen him recently?

Happy 2nd Birthday to our beloved Bear Cub, proudly funded by ourselves!
We absolutely love our bear 🐻 – he's been a very busy cub, earning quite a few badges along the way. He's even holding a tent peg, ready to join the other scouts from the compound for a camping adventure!
