The boundary change means it is a bit less Surrey and more SW London. The Guildford Plan collapsed the local tory membership. Many ran as local residents against tories largely within Guildford Borough. I’m not sure about Elmbridge which is most of the constituency.

The big local issue for Esther and Walton, and a good chunk of Guildford is the Guildford local plan and the use of Wisley Airport for housing. You can track the collapse of the local tories from then.

A far better photo of horsley towers than any I’ve taken from the cover of the Surrey Pevsner.

White Down hill - Cycling uphill Whitedown is a popular climb West of Dorking and quite close to Box Hill and Leith Hill. Β  As you leave A25 and head north the climb begins immediately, the first 200 meters is a gentle introduction –...

A watercress farm in Abinger Hammer. The bus broke down trying to drive up the white down back to school and we had to walk.

My nephew had to have two breadsticks, one in each hand, both the same length. He’d take a bite from one and start crying as they weren’t the same length. He’d stop crying as soon as both were finished and get incredibly grumpy as we’d be laughing at him, and demand more breadsticks.
