Seven thumbnail images of young journalists against a pink background under the headline: "Meet our newest group of Voice Contributors"

One of the joys of my role as VoiceMag editor is the Voice Contributors scheme, in which I get to work with young people over 3 months as they explore #journalism & #creativewriting.

They're already producing amazing work and I can't wait to see what they do next. www.voicemag.uk/tag/voice-co...

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.

Imagine if a university unilaterally announced it was cutting its English degrees. Badenoch would be on the front page of every paper saying "it's absurd that woke universities are denying students the right to learn about Shakespeare, Byron, etc".

English?! I mean, this argument is absurd whatever degree it focuses on, but given that English is (rightly) a core subject that every pupil in the country studies up until GCSE level, it's insane to suggest it's a "rip-off degree".

And so the annual #LFF FOMO begins! Hoping to experience this year's fest vicariously through the brilliant Voice Magazine reviewer Kieran Battams, who is attending for us. Check out his reviews here! www.voicemag.uk/tag/london-f...

Is there any way we can elect Ismaeel from #EducatingYorkshire to be prime minister? I think it's worth looking into, personally.

TV Review: Film Club – Aimee Lou Wood romcom brings charm and heartbreak Aimee Lou Wood and Nabhaan Rizwan star in this BBC Three sitcom about two university friends who love movies and, though they refuse to say it, they almost certainly love each other as well.

I reviewed the really quite lovely new BBC comedy Film Club, which stars Aimee Lou Wood and Nabhaan Rizwan. www.voicemag.uk/review/15738...

Very funny that Cov fans spent the whole summer certain that we needed to sign a striker. Three recognised centre-forwards in our squad and they've scored eight goals between them in the last seven days. #PUSB

Very inconsiderate of Paul Thomas Anderson to have made a three-hour movie everybody agrees is excellent when I now have tiny twins who are unwilling to sanction their dad spending most of a day in the cinema. πŸ™ˆ

Good point for the Sky Blues away from home in one of the toughest fixtures of the season. Our defence looked organised and resilient for probably the first time all season, so that's a real positive. #PUSB

Robert Redford leans against a fence while wearing a blue suit in a scene from The Old Man and The Gun

If you're in search of a Robert Redford film to watch, look no further than his final one. The Old Man & the Gun is a delightful, straightforwardly fun story in which Redford's charisma and charm is front and centre. He chose his own acting swansong, and he chose very well indeed.

I worry that the decades it took to build anti-racism norms are unravelling quite quickly. Clearly the protests/social media drumbeat has created a permission structure that makes people think they can behave like this. Hard to see how it can be easily re-bottled.

I'm a journalist and have been paid a lot less than Β£40 for a lot more than 300 words, by famous and relatively moneyed outlets. I think for a small, indie business, your rates are far from worthy of having a go at.
