Fabulous morning at the West Australian Museum looking at their professional learning and excursion programs! WA teachers check it out visit.museum.wa.gov.au/boolabardip/... #EduSkyAU
10.06.2025 03:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I dragged myself through co-pilot to develop revision notes and exam practice qs for my y10 child- secretly cursing that Iβm using AI for an antiquated system of assessment π‘ #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Youβre All over it- though Iβd need a crash course in what they mean- I could seriously get it wrong! Acronyms are bad enough π #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And then we rely on team sports on a weekend to fulfil all the skills acquisition- and involvement of parents that can be very emotive for parent and child #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:33 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The more teachers Iβve worked with the more Iβve seen a need to βexplicitlyβ teach them how to observe. Confidence is major barrier and knowing their pedagogical approach is good and will work. It takes strength to go against the grain and not fill the whole lesson with stuff #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:31 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ok now someone is having too much fun playing on the emoji board π (secretly jealous you can do that!) #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:28 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Jump in way too quick, we try to protect at every opportunity but then actually close off so many learning experiences in the process. Feeling frustrated and being upset are normal and only by experiencing them can we cope and adapt better #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:27 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooh I hope it would lessen teacher burnout and they could also have the luxury of letting it be a time when they can do what they went into education for- being around children and having fun #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:25 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think it often depends on the individual- play needs a safe environment where children can allow themselves to play. For many students play has not been demonstrated if they have trauma. Theyβve sadly learnt in different ways- our role as educators is to then provide that safe space #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The biggest loss is interaction between students. There is no need to βexplicitlyβ teach behaviours or collaboration etc. if you let children play they work out the social boundaries pretty quickly and develop strong sense of identity and empathy #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:20 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Play normally brings happiness and a rush of endorphins that make you engaged. It also encourages risk because thereβs safety in play, so new things can come about #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:18 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good one for kids to design too. I used Top Trumps template design for way too many science concepts- maybe Spot It could be the next! #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:16 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My brother in law is the CEO of an enormous company in UK and credits his computer game playing at teaching him the best strategy in a board room over any education/ finance course/degree #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:15 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ooh -Iβm still terrible with Apple and Mac π only use it for phone. Also canβt underestimate the magnificent SNES #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:13 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nothing better than putting on your headphones and dancing like no oneβs watching! #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:11 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh yep-friend and I obsessed with sending adverts of old school video games that are up for sale! Miss my Sega and Commodore 64 #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 10:09 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Oh Iβd love to say more often or even recently. I try to get Spotit out now and again at the dinner table. I actually feel Iβm playing when I work with my kids on assignments- atoms with gummy drops and m&m and building Platoβs cave #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 09:48 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Anna from @acsaedu.bsky.social on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja #EduSkyAU
03.06.2025 09:46 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well funded, and graduates who are well equipped and valued. Opportunity for self professional learning, supported by the system to adopt new innovative practice. And letβs focus on students feeling safe and enjoy their school experience rather then βget through itβ #EduSkyAU
28.05.2025 07:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe not rely on teachers to find their skills through some reel on an entrepreneur or inspirational leader. Innovative practices and how to enact them in education should be a core element of teacher training and then given value and time to adopt. #EduSkyAU
28.05.2025 07:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is hard because the rise of the education CEO is causing confusion with the role. Resources, culture, operations leave leaders in hard places. I really think if a creative leader is in a stable environment then magic will happen sadly though βmaster of all tradesβ is coming to mind #EduSkyAU
28.05.2025 07:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Stop seeing parents and communities as the enemies who are critiquing our work. Theyβre genuinely invested in the most important things in their life. open dialogue and respectful of what the child means to them and what the expectations are from educators, parents and students themselves #EduSkyAU
28.05.2025 07:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βTransition yearsβ actually make them meaningful, from primary- secondary- tertiary. Prepare them for the next rather than expecting them to adapt #EduSkyAu
28.05.2025 07:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So much- because Iβm tired of βevidence basedβ β data informedβ terminology to justify the sales pitch of an educational product. Maybe Iβm more focused on the critical lens at which ppl should view the validity of the evidence π #EduSkyAU

Make it so it is compatible to my teaching and supports student learning. Science labs are packing, washing, setting up- I like to have things to hand and a bit of mess, mess is a reality and tidying up, taking care of environment is a skill in itself #EduSkyAU
21.05.2025 12:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have issues with eduinflencers putting up unrealistic expectations on teachers. Most students donβt appreciate the ridiculous hours put in to make it a showcase. It can be seriously overwhelming for many students. Gosh teaching is hard enough #EduSkyAU
21.05.2025 12:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Try and make it like an environment they will use post school- as a specialist I like it to be a different space to others so they have a different mindset when they enter, they switch their science/STEM brains on #EduSkyAU
21.05.2025 12:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve always been lucky and I think even more so as a specialist bc science labs are a bit special- living and breathing. Iβve let Ss write on desks, and make walls interactive- lets them have ownership of the space #EduSkyAU
