INA 237(a)(3)(A) renders removable anyone that fails to comply with the requirement to update their address within 10 days. This means that technically, a lawful permanent resident may be removed from the United States for only failing to update their address. Again, I've never seen this before.

INA 264(e) requires every lawful permanent resident to carry their green card with them at all times. Failure to comply with this is a misdemeanor and may result in a fine of up to $100 and / or 30 days imprisonment. Previously, I have never seen this enforced, but the ICE raids have me concerned.

We're heading into areas where there may be unprecedented immigration crackdowns. I think it may be possible that the new administration may seek to use laws that have not really been used before. Two such laws are INA 264(e) and INA 237(a)(3)(A).

Presuming this also applies to re-parole renewing it every two years, you could see Ukrainians start to lose parole status within weeks.

The webpage for USCIS on public charge has been revised or updated today. One of the most frustrating parts of the Trump administration was form I-944. I'm concerned for updates that negatively impact immigrants soon.

This means that many nonimmigrants that thought they were subject to INA 212(e) will no longer be subject and can apply for a green card.

A DOS proposed change to the J visa skills list will become effective on 12/09/2024 and will remove many countries from the current skills list (China, India, Brazil, and more included).

This massive change is also retroactive to the 2009 skills list. This is a massive development for many.
