I don't seem to be able to hear Penrose saying this. The "obvious to me but not to you" approach illustrating that I'm smart and you're dumb strikes me as alien to the likes of (say) Penrose and (Nikola) Tesla, lying more in the domain of Messrs Dunning and Kruger.

I'm finding it hard to imagine a truly intelligent person saying anything like that.

I developed a serious allergy to social media last year from the Twitter muskiness. I found some breathing space as @bidmead@mstdn.social but my impulse to share short prose essays has atrophied. Or I may be being chilled into self-censorship. Perhaps I can investigate that here on BlueSky.
