You know, one of the things I will say about this place: I appreciate being able to say how frustrating it is that the skatepark design process is less democratic than it often boasts to be, and probably not having to worry about getting bit in the ass because the wrong person sees it.

My feed over there is chronological, I have him and others muted, I get the same boner pill ads that everyone else with media literacy sees and ignores. The worst part of the whole experience (other than the cardinal sin of being social media) is when people argue about SOTY.

I believe the problem to be with social media itself, and that toothpaste is already out of the tube. Elon sucks, but so does Zuck and I see all of y’all’s stories while I’m avoiding things.

We all got here by posting, and I don’t believe there to be a way to post out of it.

Engagement feels like a coded way of acknowledging that we all go on social media because we like interacting with other people.

My view is that posting into the void, while easier on the conscience, does not satiate the urge to be a part of a conversation that centers the poster’s desires.

I turned the screws one, and was met with much of the same fatalism that I personally harbor as well.
