Are the Democrats committed to repealing the bill? I haven’t heard them say that. Voting against something is different to a commitment to overturn and reverse it on gaining power.

When a person conclusively and repeatedly proves they have no plan, then this has to be one of the most stupid articles ever written. This is the equivalent of searching for pixies at the end of the garden.

The problem with modern politics is that for decades politicians have been overselling the real effect they can have on most people’s lives. Disillusionment is with this constant arms race for ever more outlandish promises of live changing governments.

So why is reducing the voting age to 16 a good idea? Imagine the council being led by a 16 year old.

This can be more complicated than first sight. I remember Gen Schwarzkopf in first Gulf War complaining his intelligence assessors were saying a bridge was 25% damaged because 1 of its 4 sections was down, even though that gap made the bridge totally impassable! These are difficult judgement calls.

Which means that one of their justifications, that they would replace direct income tax, is now no longer possible? This tariff objective thing is quite confusing.

Back then your main worry would probably have been whether the Soviet Union would drop a nuke on us? I remember in a school class (say, 14 years old) everyone put their hand up when the teacher asked “who thinks there will be a nuclear war within your lifetime.”

Seems to me that the word “corporations” is used whenever someone wants to blame someone for some unspecified bad action but has no actual evidence of any exact individual person doing something specifically wrong. It’s like saying “ahhh, the world isn’t utopia and I don’t like it!”

Is that an admission of a deliberate intent to commit a war crime?

And today Hamas issued a statement decrying the breach of international law. Without any sense of irony at all!

It’s a guess, but based on publicly available information, the reason #Trump left G7 early is because the meeting is about policy detail & strategy & Trump isn’t capable of that. So stay, fall asleep and look silly through lack of knowledge, or find a reason to leave early. Logical really!

The idea of having the same financial reward as everyone else in the company (whoever you are and regardless of position) seems morally and logically absurd to me.

I predicted, about 6 years ago, that the US constitution would be “suspended” in some way within 10 years. I’m going to stick with my prediction which seems to be following a very clear path!

I’m super old fashioned, I realise, but the way we get rid of a government in a democracy is we wait for the next general election and then vote? That’s the constitutional way to change a government. Just a thought. #democracy #elections #parliament

Many forget what prompted the start of the Russian invasion; it’s now forgotten there was a rising tide of protest against Putin’s rule. Street protests, media opposition etc. War was opportunity to suppress this by wrapping the country in the flag. To maintain power Putin requires a perpetual war.

The problem is that all automated trading systems will use historical data, while at the same time the very same investment companies that use it will warn us that past performance is no guarantee of future returns? What a strange world we live in!
