4 years ago this same week we released Far Cry 6 with my then team at Ubisoft and my at that time previous team at DICE released the beta for Battlefield 2042.
ItΒ΄s been tough but IΒ΄ve come full circle.

previews, beta reception, preorders, wishlists etc. look good but itΒ΄s a weird feeling to have sunk years into this game and have done everything you could but it not being out there.
itΒ΄s like it hasnΒ΄t happened.. yet. calm before the storm.

Not every animator or game dev makes it into the industry. And even if you do, sometimes the industry pushes you out.

Since Aug 2024 open jobs on LinkedIn in the games industry have gone down from 12K to under 9K.
The number of layoffs since 2022 has been 38K+.
Even with duplicate layoffs and people that got new jobs since then thatΒ΄s just too many butts for too few open seats.
Grass might be greener elsewhere.
