The truth is this alternative weekend nirvana all comes down to plumbing and waste management. There are armies of kids who've been given tickets in exchange for picking up rubbish, of which there is an extraordinary amount. But it's bogs that are really the central leitmotif of Glastonbury. It's all about one thing: colonic endurance. Can you go the full three days without going? Because the very thought is so nauseous, so utterly medieval, it makes a colostomy bag sound like a civilised option. There are plenty of loos laid out like back-to-back miners' cottages. You can see the rows of feet in the morning, the whole-earth pasty-shoe next to the Nike Airs, next to Doc Martens. That's the thing that's rarely mentioned about hippies - they've managed to achieve completely unisexual footwear but, my darling, the smell. By the third morning it's, well, it's half a million turds and all the trimmings. There are horror stories of dropped stashes, of tripping and slipping, of horrible, horrible rectal explosions. But, for me, the most poignant, the most grisly, is the girl who told me she'd been putting off the call of nature for as long as sphincterally possible and until she was so comprehensively stoned and drunk she could face the drop. So at 2am she gingerly made her way to the pitch-black amenities block. Opening the door, she dropped her pants and, with the tense precision of a Romanian gymnast, lowered her posterior over the open sewer. Something cold and clammy squidged between the cheeks of her buttocks and in a sudden dark, repulsive flash of third-eye insight she realised she was squatting on the pointy turtle's head of the last occupant's offering, which itself was the high peak of a mountain of shit that had risen like the devil's soufflé from the bowl. She said her scream woke at least 4,000 people.

partner & i were reminiscing about the long ago early days of our relationship and how i got her hooked by recomending & loaning each other books. fittingly, one of the 1st books i loaned them was by a.a. gill and featured this disgustingly funny anecodote about glastonbury loo amenities

love to experience a weird side effect that is very much not on the listed "known side effects" and when you look it up, they say "oh yeah, that's not common but it does happen i guess - just keep an eye on it & don't worry too much"

watching the ghost rider sequel now that it's back on tubi and i swear it's the last time a marvel movie has been interesting in any way whatsoever (not saying it's *good* just not bland dreck)

KNIGHT OF PENTACLES #tarot -watercolor and ink on paper 76th tarot from the 78 card square-o tarot deck i made 5 years ago for my 20202020 ( @floatingworld.bsky.social ) daily drawing book where all cards first appeared in https://floatingworldcomics.com/shop/art-books/20202020-by-farel-dalrymple Based off the old Pamela Colman Smith card: shows a sci-fi/fantasy person on a high cliff and wearing gold armor and riding a like ostrich type steed. A knight is generally considered the appropriate card for a teenager or young adult, most often a teenaged boy or young man aged 18–30. Knights can also represent religion/philosophy or communication/logistics/action, although the horse on the Knight of Coins card is always standing still. Coins are considered the "darkest" of the suits in terms of choosing based on appearance and are meant to represent dark-skinned, dark-haired people. Using this method, a Knight of Coins would be used to represent a young man who is dark of complexion and features. One may also choose based on the meaning of the card, and how that meaning lines up with personality. So, in the case of the Knight of Coins, the card might represent someone who is stubborn or hard-working, serious, or set in their ways. One might also use this card when grappling with a question where one of those issues is coming up—when one has a question about work or home life, or a question about whether to stand one's ground on an issue. The Knight of Coins is sometimes also interpreted as a "handsome brooding introvert".

Some notes about his clothing: - The circular headdress he wears above his cap is called a world disc and represents an iris (to which the head is the pupil). The Desert is often conceptualized as an eye. - The string of beads he wears around his chest is functionally the same as a rosary, but also gives some important information about his identity. The water ampule indicates he's a monk of the Annia Mansur school, the fact that it's half full means he's only an initiate. The little tin squares are symbols of the Yellow Star. Not everyone wears this. - The markings under his mouth represent the miraculous power of his saliva, which can make seeds germinate instantly (this is a prerogative of the monks of the Yellow Star). - The object at his feet is not an object, but a corpse: when an angel (emissary/child of a Star) dies or is killed, its body changes shape and turns into a small egg (they are edible).

There is a fantasy creature with a long tail and sitting on her shoulders. It is part of what tarot card readers call the "Minor Arcana" and is believed to provide hints about how to invest resources and turn ideas into reality. Divination usage Often used to represent a young person, in tarot the Jack of Coins can mean a changing of your line of work and/or taking on more responsibility. But primarily, this is the card for students.
