And it is also depending of what is covered in the healthcare, things like dental might not be or only partialy covered but emergency is always covered. You think you need an ambulance, call emergency. There will not be a bill. And be carefull with special rescue operations, they are not covered.

All countries have a form of universal healthcare and if you travel between countries the healthcare of your country normaly picks up the bill. This is often even for countries that are not in the Eu. Some things you have to pay but then most will be reimburst. But not if I would travel to the US.
