Oh, the list could go on forever — Logan’s Run, Baby Boom, Working Girl, Dirty Dancing, and of course Uncle Buck, just to name a few. And that’s before even getting to the gems below.

Starman (1984) is a John Carpenter-directed sci-fi romance film about an alien who crash-lands on Earth and takes the form of a recently deceased man, forcing his widow, Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen), to drive him to a rendezvous point in Arizona while being pursued by the government. The alien, Starman (Jeff Bridges), learns about humanity and love during the cross-country journey, leading to a unique bond with Jenny. The film is known for its gentle tone, romantic story, and Jeff Bridges' Oscar-nominated performance as the alien learning to be human.

Starman was a short-lived American sci-fi TV series that aired on ABC from 1986–1987, continuing the story from the 1984 film. Starring Robert Hays as the alien Starman and Christopher Daniel Barnes as his teenage son, Scott, the show followed their cross-country journey to find Scott's mother, Jenny Hayden, while being pursued by a government agent. The series, which ran for one season of 22 episodes, focused on the father-son relationship as the alien learned to be human, often helping people in need along the way
