We need need more people talking about this. Not enough people know that this is going on and we need more big names spreading the word.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of ID verification (which they’re calling age verification) at account setup.

Literally call your rep and senator every single hour today about the age verification bills, I’m not even joking.

If age verification bills start to pass, I’m deadass going to take the Ao3 open source code and I’m going to use it to make @studiooutthere.bsky.social specific forums and fanfic hosting because I refuse to let people who like our art get screwed over.
