PSG were an irrelevance in European football until a state-backed project transformed them into a symbol of modern football’s moral drift - soft power, sportswashing, and influence beyond the pitch. Good as they are, success built on that model leaves a bitter taste.

There was a reason lots of us protested then. Some of us gave up our season tickets. A new club was set up, for goodness sake.

The protests are not new. But sometimes, from the narrative that’s told, you’d think they were.

Would be nice to hear more media narrative about the fact that 20 years ago, United were plundered solely in order to benefit one already incredibly wealthy family.

We knew then it would be a disaster; we just didn’t know how long it would take.

Utterly shameful that it was allowed to happen.
