There must be trials. Not as an emotive aspiration, rhetorical meme, or empty threat. A concrete plan. A dedicated special court for it. Structural legislation and prosecutors and funding and all the rest of it. Everything necessary for it can be done constitutionally. All it takes is the will.

The ham sandwich trope (a garbage human Sol Wachtler quote) is what folks say to downplay that they or their buddies have just been indicted. The low no-true-bill rate always came from very high prosecutorial standards: a belief that they can not only convict, but also to sustain it on appeal.

I see that take everywhere of late, always with a conspicuous lack of curiosity about what it implies about what understanding & reasoning might actually be. If smoke & mirrors & vector spaces can “fake” them so well, then what are they, really?
