A little thread of the Eurovision 2025 artists I got to meet this year.

A great day at the Louth County Museum yesterday to listen to stories from Louth people about how they experienced the Marriage Equality Referendum ten years ago and how their lives changed because of it. So much acheived but so much left to do. Rainbow cake and giant signs also a big Yes from me.

We have to keep pushing forward and making sure that Ireland is a place for all people to live, not just some people. But for today, let's celebrate the huge leap forward when we made grá the law 10 years ago.

There is still a lot to be done for LGBTQ rights in Ireland. There are no hate crime laws. Same-sex parents do not have equal rights. Trans people face exceedlingly long waits to access healthcare and the world is extremely hostile to them right now.

I was on Erasmus in France for pretty much the entire campaign. Because I was outside of Ireland, I could escape the constant barrage of people debating whether people like me deserve rights and whether or not we were a disgrace to society. Thankfully, Ireland voted Yes.
