Weβre asking the Scottish Government and Cosla (the local authorities body) to stop dragging their heels in agreeing the 2025-26 pay award for teachers. We need full pay restoration.

We won't let those intent on dividing our communities use the real fears of women as a smokescreen for their hatred.
We stand together against the far right. βοΈπ€

United against racism & the far right.
We have an unstable job market that fails to produce permanent roles for a high number of teachers, especially those earlier in their careers.
It feels like weβre setting Scottish teachers up to fail.

Speaking on behalf of the STUC and NASUWT Scotland, Kim affirms our collective fight against the far right.
NASUWT has a long and proud tradition of defending communities threatened by the far right.

It is a patchwork picture across Scotland in relation to debriefs post incident.
NASUWT supports the need for a national system to report and record every significant incident of use of force. Recording data can then be used to monitor and identify patterns.

The mask slips and For Women Scotland are revealed as an anti-trade union fringe group. NASUWT policy is debated and voted on by our serving teacher members. Who do FWS represent? Not the majority of women in Scotland who agree that #TransRightsAreHumanRights #STUC #UnitedWorkers

Mr Wrack, GS NASUWT, said the trade union movement must offer, and demand, an alternative.

No child deserves to live in poverty, full stop. But the educational impact of the poverty that continues to rip through our communities and schools cannot be overstated.
The UK government cannot claim an ambitious child poverty strategy while any part of this policy remains in place.
I donβt know that she always listensβ¦ but, on this, I share her frustration - the National Behaviour Action Plan has some decent stuff in it and local authorities/schools need to get a move on and implement it. If not, they will likely see more trade disputes and action from NASUWT members. #EduSky

Employers & schools need to take action & implement national guidance.
While not captured on the recording, Mike also queried the weight being given to comments from the Commission on School Reform.
This was a bit frustrating today: our politicians are going to need to learn, and quickly, that Far Right and Farage lies need to be challenged loudly and publicly, both on the ground and in the media. #STUC

Trade unions have also raised the alarm, warning that social media influencers are fuelling a palpable and dangerous increase in sexism and misogyny.
The NASUWT teaching union has described this sort of abuse and harassment, which is aimed at female teachers and pupils, as a βdaily occurrence.β
