I created this abstract cyanotype by using a spray bottle to spray the cyanotype liquid onto watercolor paper. Then I laid 4 intriguing autumn leaves down onto it. The sun exposed the liquid, and here is the result! On display at the Blackstone Public Library and available for sale #cyanotype #art

I used a collection of bicycle gears to create the image.

... which has a layer of gesso on it - the cyanotype liquid stains lightly, creating a soft image. With this 12-inch square of canvas, I applied the cyanotype liquid directly to that gessoed surface. The image is much lighter / softer than what would happen with watercolor paper.

Cyanotype on canvas

Normally I create my cyanotype artworks using watercolor paper. The watercolor paper soaks in the cyanotype liquid and creates a good resulting image. However, mounted canvas can also work. If you use canvas in its 'traditional' starting state... #cyanotype #cyanotypes #art #artist

My back yard is a wildflower meadow for the bees and butterflies :). I created this cyanotype sun print using one of my wildflowers. I'll have to experiment more, I paint with watercolors and have tried to get this effect in the past but just can't manage it. Maybe I have to try different kinds of paper.
