In spite of the uneven tone, the inconsistent starts to lines, and a general lack of range and endurance, it felt good to play again. There’s nothing like the sense of making music so full that it fills your body. Gonna slowly work my way back through all my method books to get back up to speed

Just pulled out my horn for the first time in literal years. Last time I came off hiatus, I had to bathe the horn because all of the oil and grease locked the horn up. This time I was able to sit down and start playing right away!

Guess I’m writing more coffee shop poems. Two in the past week! Though the topic feels a bit cliche, at this point in the game it’s about practice and repetition, taking what comes and always writing more

I lie down in my corner

I’ve had a terribly long week. Lots of changes, lots of adjustments and processing. And the work begins again. But sitting down to read this reminds me why I love music and literature and why I’m training to be a researcher and teacher.

Oh totally. I just haven’t read as many of them yet, since tuning (my current focus) doesn’t seem to come up quite as much or as explicitly

Also, I grew up watching way too many shows with genre episodes, so for me this is no different than when Teen Titans did a death race episode starting the briefcase from Pulp Fiction
