They want to hurt because it gives them purpose and it’s what’s real to them. They give up and fall back to hedonism and lack of impulse control, then try to pretend it’s something more profound than that.

Point is, fascism came about because people felt defeated and listless. So they latched onto anything that felt real to them. And in this case because of what the system perpetuates (hierarchy, conformity, national identity) it’s anger and violence.

Well it’s also something borne out of ennui. Same as why the Dada failed in the rise of fascism. You can easily bridge that with the troll atmosphere.

I got a lot to say about drawing but the truth is I've been pretty sick and not drawing a lot, getting started again is hard once I stop. I like seeing drawings and talking about drawing and thinking about drawing though! Thank you for sharing that stuff with me!

An attempt to illustrate four expressions of my OC Roberto, the great hammerhead shark. In the first, he has a curious, uncertain expression with his right hand on his chest. In the second, he is looking sideways with a neutral expression, his index finger touching his chin. In the third, he has a silly, smiling expression, as if apologizing for something, with his right hand behind his head and his left hand with an open palm. In the fourth, he looks indignant and annoyed about something, shrugging his shoulders.

Now I made the same expressions but with Roberto being what he really is, a very silly great hammerhead shark! 🦈✨
