Everything about the events in LA is an insult to Americans' intelligence. If you need a manufactured riot to sell a "big beautiful bill" in Washington, it should tell you everything you need to know.

Crisis event manufactured by the federal government designed with the intention to provoke so force can be used. Classic propaganda tool of 20th century fascists bent on stripping away freedoms in the name of aspiring dictators draped in a flag. Depressing to see this tactic deployed in America.

I fully expect California to be its own country by 2036. Possibly Texas, as well, but for polar opposite reasons.

This isn’t about protecting kids.
It’s about offloading liability before their next-gen platform causes even more harm. And it’s happening now — just as they’re scaling back the very teams who used to catch and prevent this.

So instead of investing in better oversight, Meta is lobbying to shift responsibility to Apple and Google through app store-based age verification. Because when the AI fails they’ll say: "The app store let them in. Not our fault."
