Farage meets Trump today at Mar-a-Lago.

I wonder what he'll whisper into the lunatic's ear this time.

I'm here a lot, and try to focus on relationships, but I think we have to assert offline experiences and relationships to counter this horror

Not the best guide but comments under Brillo's tweets are mostly critical (it's usually the opposite). The British Right are quite out of step with the public here. There's a section that's always dazzled by American power. Tony Blair suffered from this, it's demented.

An example of how these people have fused fantasy with reality to create a dangerous hybrid in which they no longer know what's real/unreal, nor even who they are. They also don't know where/when to stop.

In future, this will be classed as a psychiatric illness

This is a longer and very good explanation of what is going on, includes mentions of the micro dick machismo men running America, and Shipman.

I remember when the Right was all about the Rule of Law. It was their proudest boast and arguably their most admirable posture. No impunity for tyrants, no war crimes, no circumvention of the rights of the individual.

this is probably the best PR Starmer's had since the election though - the UK population, with unusual unanimity, hates Trump and wants us to have as little to do with his shit-flinging escapades as possible

As with Badenoch, the effect of all this is that they are supporting Trump. They are Trump supporters. I'll say it again: They are Trump supporters.

They'll often couch their support in 'just asking questions', 'I'd do it differently', and 'realpolitik' but this is where they are.

Bear in mind that Neil had a whole 'mea culpa' moment on Trump a year ago when he finally realised Trump was/is a dangerous narcissist.

Now he's egging Trump on.

On the one hand, a clearly deranged lunatic in the White House starting a dangerous illegal war on Iran with already-serious repercussions for the region and world...

Or having a pop at Keir Starmer.

You just knew which side the Right would come down on.

Trump’s lightbulb moment: America needs Europe after all The U.S. is even looking to Ukraine to help its operations against Iran β€” as Trump rages at Starmer and SΓ‘nchez for refusing to back his war.

The ultimate irony is Trump asking Ukraine for support . www.politico.eu/article/dona...

The key question for markets is whether that means the Straits of Hormuz and energy infrastructure in the Gulf will continue to be under threat through September. Because that is NOT priced in right now.

The Right have been going after the rising 'welfare bill' in recent weeks, mostly missing the fact that over half of it is pensions. Yes folks, Nanny & Grandad are apparently jobless scroungers.

And anyway, why are we paying out more in pensions as the number of old people grows? A mystery.

Secretary Noem acknowledges ICE and CBP can't shoot Americans for peacefully protesting, videotaping ICE officers or lawfully carrying a firearm, and yet her agents are routinely violating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. There is a total leadership breakdown requiring immediate change.

December-March is the perfect time to be in Dubai, weather-wise. And the best time to be away from Britain.

This is chucklesome, but I can't imagine it affects many. After all, given the choice of Dubai or Britain in Q1, who would choose Britain? The weather here is (and has been) depressing.

If this whole conflict had happened in, say, October, I suspect it'd be a much bigger 'issue' (aka chortle fest).
