I’ve just noticed a nice detail on my daughter’s new Feed Me With Your Kiss t-shirt from the My Bloody Valentine gig. The label on the back says established 2804. Desperately hoping that’s a nod to the fact that MBV’s music still sounds hundreds of years in the future.

My goodness, that was incredible. Just crazy. Scotland were absolute rubbish for at least 90 of the 98 minutes but scored three of the best goals I’ve ever seen. Chuffed for Super John McGinn.

It just seems so hard to break into a Premier League side now. Here’s hoping they make it eventually.

I hope Borland and Hemmings get their chance. We have a tendency to wait a bit too long to give young players a chance. Going out the Legaue Cup doesn’t help. I saw Man City played loads of their kids in the League Cup. I know they’ve got to be ready but I’d love to see more home-grown talent. #AVFC

Bogarde is excellent. So comfortable on the ball. We made heavier going of it than we should have in the last 15 but great to get another win on the board. Nice to not want an international break seeing as we’ve got momentum. Up the Villa!

Word to the wise. If you visit ALDI, and you’re not allergic, get these. I buy loads of them. A woman saw me getting five bags in Leytonstone and said she was going to get some because of my obsession. They’re stupidly cheap, too - usually about 99p a bag.

Why does The Graham Norton Show bring all the guests on at the same time and then make them listen to one person talking for ages? It’s like being at a bus stop where everyone else is quiet and embarrassed while one person talks about themselves incessantly.

Smashing performance. Really open game, so suited our style of play. Bizot was marvellous, but good performances all over the pitch, including McGinn, Buendia, Konsa, and Pau.
