Someone did this with my address for over a year, until I received some medical information for their kid (!) - I responded to the provider to let them know I wasn't the intended recipient and it finally stopped 😬

If this is Gmail, then it's the same email address - the dots don't actually change the account; all variations go to the same inbox. So this person is using the wrong email address entirely (it's probably a really similar email address to yours and they're entering it incorrectly).
