In 1988, I was a Jesse Jackson delegate to the Texas Senate District Convention in Tarrant County. His politics were the most closely aligned with mine of any Democrat in my lifetime along with the other person pictured here, Bernie Sanders.

It was a bad sign for me when Dukakis said the race wasn't about ideology but competence. That kind of message always fires up the base.

I already have osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis but ever since a car accident a couple of years ago in which my thumb was broken I ache even more when we have rain like today in the Dallas area. That’s a shame because I like listening to rain storms.
