game engines in my experience are either too simple or too complicated but maybe that's because I don't really know how to code yet lol. I want an engine that can run on windows xp but doesn't require me to write opengl draw calls

I think godot being non-industry standard is what makes it more appealing to me. I mean yeah it's big but it's not like unity or gamemaker levels of big. it has just enough support to make me want to pursue it
