Just find it a bit bleak that John has put without caveat “fewer people coming from abroad to work or study in the UK” as a reason to not feel gloomy.

Not a high paid political consultant or anything, but it seems to me that the argument for opposition is "this is corrupt, illegal, immoral, and un-American, and we won't help it in any way," rather than needing a specific legislative ask Republicans might theoretically pass that Trump will ignore.

The lack of mainstream coverage of regular huge protests reminds me of a talk from a Twitter employees who explained that they had to drop BLM off the Trending Tags section because otherwise it would have been there permanently. The modern media environment has no appetite for sustained movements.
