Not been on here for ages but prayers were answered. February seems a long time ago.

I should add i left Shildon the year before it closed so got a bit lucky, so many others didn't.

It wasn't just coal mining. It was also steel, ship building, railways. My little town in NE East England, Shildon, has never recovered. Over 40 yrs since the wagon works closed. Wasn't just the 2500 that lost the ir jobs but the knock on effect cost thousands more. Bitch is in the best place.

There's a lot more years behind me than there is front of me so please just let that little lad from 57 years ago see us win summat before I croak.

I go more in hope than expectation but it would be great to make a new kind of history, a winning one. After, 74, 76, 98, 99, 2000 semi I just want to see a win.

Two stories in one. 57 years ago today I began my love hate relationship with NUFC at St James Park v Leeds Utd and the rest as they say is history. For most of that time we've been trophy virgins, only the Fairs Cup in '69 and i didnt get to that one.

My mistake. I thought it was the Supporters Club. Cheers.

I was at the game and they, BCFC, were the the dirtiest team I've seen in a long time. Absolutely reckless challenges at times which deserved red cards. Ref was piss poor. No control at all but the result was all important.

Happily back home from Birmingham. Good 3.2 away win at the dirty Brummies and into the FA Cup 5th round draw.

Long drive back from SJP last night after watching Toon dismantle Arsenal and reach League Cup Final at Wembley 16th March. It's not too much to ask for me to actually see NUFC lift a trophy. I was in my pram in 55 and couldn't go in 69. We'll find out our opponents tonight.

Toon bound v Arsenal 2nd leg of League Cup Semi Final. All of a sudden our two goal lead looks pretty flimsy after our last two home performances. If we score first then the pressure's off. If Arsenal score first it's squeaky bum time. An interesting evening in store. Which NUFC will turn up ?

Second half we were second best. I know we had chances but you could write the script. I believe heads were on Wednesday night where we need to turn up. A 2 goal cushion but if they get an early goal we could implode.

Lloyd looks like he's wearing something from the North Korean Saville Row.

I'm the eternal pessimist. If Arsenal get the first, we could implode. Hoping for your scenario but this is Newcastle United - we know who we are.

Toon bound this morning v Fulham. My passion since I was a kid. Used to be a half hour - 40 min journey, up until 1983, but now a 7 hour return journey. Hoping for a win and that Wednesday's League Cup Semi Final doesn't affect their game.

My heart's always said stay and develop but my head's becoming the main player now. I think a move (to Leazes Park) is the right thing. Planning shouldn't be an issue now.

Lived with it for years and it's bloody painful. Most of the time meds keep it away but when it comes 😭. Matt suffered from eczema though.

I get less involved with politics these days but still take an interest on both sides of the English Pond (not quite renamed by Google yet). I mainly joined for #NUFC chat so it's easy to scroll past politics, just don't interact.

He's unlikely to be fit long enough to tie his laces. I really hope I'm wrong but his record tells me it won't happen.
