My first friend in school was the son of an Asian doctor in the Valleys. It never dawned on me that he was a different ethnicity to me.
Prejudice is a taught behaviour. It isnβt natural.
Measure others by their actions & quality of their thinking. Not the volume of their words.

Just looking back at some of the projects over the last 7 years.
I feel so very lucky to have worked with the likes of the BBC, S4C, Plaid Cymru, Eisteddfod, Yes Cymru, Spirit of 58, FAW and the Senedd. Plus many more.
Who ever said you have to leave the Valleys to be creative?
I think itβs been 5 years since I printed these last. But they are printing like it were yesterday π
25.04.2025 13:36 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Me and my wife had just found out we were expecting a baby.
I just had the urge to paint this. I didnβt even know at the time that we were expecting a baby girl.
Paintings are lovely to look back at.
With a smile.
You donβt always get a chance to tell people what your paintings are about.
But it is nice to look back at paintings; as it reminds you where you were in life.
I painted this painting a year ago, I called it βCwtchβ.
We live in a beautiful part of the world, where brave people risked their lives everyday and went underground to support their families.

I had painted a picture which showed a minerβs helmet being used as a vase. But I felt that old working boots would be a striking image also.
To me, it shows how beautiful but dangerous nature can be.
βI took my old helmet home with me, I filled it full of earth. I planted little flowers, they grew for all their worth. Itβs hanging in the glass house now, a living memory, reminding me they could have grown in vases over meβ
12.04.2025 20:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I painted this a year ago. It was really inspired by the Max Boyce song βDuw itβs hardββ¦
In particular, how he describes taking his old minerβs helmet home with him after he finished down the pitβ¦
I would love to do a design of this. It is such a powerful slogan for the working class.
12.04.2025 13:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hungry as L-
or Hungry as Lions.
This was a defiant slogan used by the striking Miners of the Rhondda Valleys during the 1927 Hunger March. When unemployed miners marched from Maerdy to London to protest against the government's refusal of benefits and the new Unemployment Bill.
On mountains in the Rhondda
The daffodils dance and shine
As tired men trudge homeward
From factory and mine
The daffodils dance on mountains
Behind a grim charcoal row
Built among the slag heaps
In a hurry long ago.
