I have learned something recently apparently when the host is possessed the Ectothrix removes the soul from its host making it easier for them to control the theory is that if the host’s soul is found and placed back into the body they might recover however this has not been tested as no souls have

Unsuccessful any attempt to forcefully remove the Ectothrix poses a massive risk of killing the host in the process right now the best to prolong the live span of a victim is to be put in status until the host’s brain can function properly again of which I have been unable to do for a long time
