Our understanding is that we live in an area where NHS access for cis women relatively easy. HRT for trans women had to be fought for however, this after going through an NHS GIC which recommended it. And this was years before the current difficulties with GPs refusing to prescribe.

Wide variation in access. In some areas going private first helps. My (not actually cis but using for the same reasons a cis woman would) had to see a private specialist first, was able to get it from their NHS GP once stablised. Dose is ⅛ the starting dose for trans men.
