The law has failed a woman and her child – fight back No survivor should face harm from the very system that is meant to protect them. No child should have to carry an abuser’s name.Β It’s time to change the system.

A High Court judge has forced a six-year-old girl to keep the surname of the man who raped her mother. We think this is an outrage and are putting together a legal team so D's mother can take her case to the European Court of Human Rights.

But we need your help. goodlawproject.org/crowdfunder/...

How have we found ourselves here as a country? A supposedly centre-left government unable to rule out child detention.

Will Labour MPs now ask – how have they found themselves here as a party? And, more importantly, what do they plan to do about it?

Proof, too, that how you are towards trans people is compelling evidence of whether you are a good quality human being.

Mark rightly identifies here one of the most concerning but thus far underdiscussed elements of this white paper – it seems to imply that Article 3 (which prohibits torture and inhuman or degrading treatment) should be made a qualified right. That is, in my view, genuinely terrifying.

A policy that will raise virtually no money (what, is the Home Office going to have an eBay & Pawn Shops Officer now?) and has historical resonances that, at best, leave most people feeling a little uncomfortable…

Plus, the far right will still say β€˜Woke Open Borders Labour.’

The Politico briefing on the proposals is absolutely terrifying, eg "the Home Office would need to review the status of up to 1.4 million people between now and 2035."πŸ‘‡πŸ»

This makes me feel physically sick. No MP should support any of these measures until they have spent a month each working in asylum detention and with unhoused people.
How dare she call this 'moral'? It's disgraceful.

I know it’s not the point, but full on:

β€œDid you make you make them hot in the photos like I asked you…

Yes boss, one of them looks like you’ve just blown him and the other smoulders, like you asked.”

Vibes.

Literally what I said when I read this. They only seem care about women's sports when a trans person is involved somehow.

When social media sites tell you moderation has limits I want you to know there was a time when you could only find the worst people on obscure forums created for being offensive because everywhere else moderated them into those corners.

That's more hot water than it's designed to give and a kettle would be more convenient. You're really looking for a proper water heater but of course those are much more.

I have an old Tefal one which basically is a coffee maker without the coffee part. Dispenses measured trickle of hot water as fast as it can heat to 95Β°C or so. I quite like it instead of boiling a kettle for one cup. Water comes out instantly but slowlyβ€”it's still heating as fast as a kettle.
