Hey Minnesota political types, this year was my first "serious" caucus. While there I signed up as a delegate and volunteered for the credential committee, I have yet to be contacted about these things, is that normal?

A gate in front of a parking lot for a closed Speedway station where the parking lot has been meticulously cleared of snow.

A sidewalk in front of a closed Speedway station that has had zero snow removal since November. It is now a treacherous walkway and the only way to access a bus stop.

Pristine parking lot and an atrocious sidewalk to the bus stop. Thank you Speedway! Sarcasm intended.

The problem I see is that the folks who want “more process” mostly seem to have the end goal of “no change” so the demands for process, pause, and engagement are getting them exactly what they want.

Where are my State Representatives and Senators regarding the attacks being lobbed constantly by right wing media at Augsburg University? The national highly suspect claims being shouted loudly with no evidence has got to be making things there very dangerous.

Celebrated the launch of the new Metro E-line. On my way home via the E-line, I stopped at Kramarczuk’s for pierogi and then Fletchers for ice cream. So good!

He really is comparing apples to oranges. If the average human driven car had all those safety features, if they had to follow the speed limits and semaphores like the Waymo vehicles do, the data would likely be similar. Imagine if we simply enforced the basic driving safety laws!

I think the Anyone But Carter folks were very strong this year and the opposition candidates listened and nodded their heads with the right groups. I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think there are many who ranked Carter 2nd.

The problem with ranked choice voting is when it becomes strategic gaming of a system. Ranked choice voting is to cast the votes for who you really want to win, not to play candidates as a statement and hope that your third choice actually wins the election.

If Musk quits then Tesla’s stock tanks because his presence is what keeps this meme stock afloat. There is nothing in their business that warrants its current stock value apart from Musk’s value as an influencer.

My final thought for the evening on this meeting. I hope leadership heard a strong desire for a roadway that improves all aspects of accessing our neighborhood: walking, biking, mass-transiting, and yes, even driving. The road is unsafe now. A simple mill and overlay will make drivers drive faster.
