Do not vote for any bill with that language. This IS worth forcing a shutdown. Standing with trans people is the right thing to do and it's politically smart. Voters and donors show up for Democrats who fight.

If anyone wants to make something like this, I used tea-stained 100lb paper (add a bit of baking soda to the tea if you’re worried about pH), dry lentils/rice for tracing random land mass shapes, and definitely recommend a fine awl for threading holes, just using the needle will murder your fingers.

Outside of “working hours” I try to work on projects just for fun and impossible to make money off of, especially if it’s something tactile an algorithm could never. This time I woke up one morning with an urge to do this.

those are lovely, it truly is a disservice that a wider range of people can’t wear them out in the world.

Wore a favorite outfit I already had, courthouse wedding, dinner at a Mexican restaurant, reception at the local dive (where a random older couple would not stop ordering us soco and lime no matter what we said). Followed by Rock Band in our one bedroom apartment. 15 years ago and still happy.

As soon as you’re willing to sacrifice any one group of people, you’ve already lost to fascism. Stand up for trans rights or get out of the way.
