09.03.2026 09:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0New pitcher on my Nepenthes (Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x (maxima x Spectabilis)! The heat over the weekend didnβt kill them yay βΊοΈ
09.03.2026 09:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I imagin they would be quite variable! The ones here were a short scrambly prostrate shrub
09.03.2026 07:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ah cool! Good to know
09.03.2026 06:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Enchylaena tomentosa also another common species this time spread out over a very large distribution across Australia! Iβm not sure if these are yellow colour form or underripe as they are usually red π€
09.03.2026 06:09 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm pretty sure this is Salicornia quinqueflora but donβt quote me on that π no flowers on these one but surviving through the sun and salt blasted rocks
09.03.2026 02:21 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The scorpion! It already stung it a few times when I was observing the fight so she got a decent meal last night!
09.03.2026 00:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some night time visitors! A Lychas marmoreus, Rebilus sp. (I believe) and a Katydid!
08.03.2026 23:51 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Frankenia pauciflora blooming at canal rocks! So tiny and delicate looking for a tough lil shrub! This is a widespread species often growing around salt lakes and coastal areas!
08.03.2026 23:16 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ooo that would have been soo cool to see! Such cool flowers
05.03.2026 23:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My Prosthechea cochleata is in bloom again π
05.03.2026 09:47 β π 16 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Not bad for a phone pic! The Luna eclipse, so eery to see the earth shadow! Soo cool
03.03.2026 12:18 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Potted up my Anigozanthos gabrielae into some bigger pots! This little Kangaroo Paw is pretty much a miniature species found mostly found around the Stirling ranges and surrounding areas and a distant population in the cape arid NP! Excited to see the flowers!
02.03.2026 04:14 β π 12 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm still getting the hang of them, but I have some seedling that I took from my grow tent and have them out in the patio and they been doing much better! I just caved and got this one ahaha π now I just got to keep it going
01.03.2026 04:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you have a bright windowsill you can adapt them to be inside, bright but not full sun tho, I imagin a window sill that gets the morning sun would work well. Or in a cool sheltered spot in a shade/greenhouse. these ones have been acclimatised outside in the Perth hills so hoping they do well
01.03.2026 04:42 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They had a display plant of this hanging like near 7ft long! Was amazing!
01.03.2026 04:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Go to a garden show, surely I wonβt buy any more plants rightβ¦ just look rightβ¦ mission failed π but omg this Nepenthes truncata x veitchii is a unit!
01.03.2026 04:06 β π 16 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0The dots progress further! Getting close to be catching fungus gnats π
25.02.2026 12:04 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And so begins the very long wait for this first flowering Paph micranthum seedling to bloom! I was not expecting it to flower soo soon!
22.02.2026 22:51 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My Restrepia is always blooming for me π
22.02.2026 22:50 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Getting there!
22.02.2026 05:57 β π 12 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Working more on the shading, bit by bit itβs coming together!
08.02.2026 06:40 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yeah in the wild I see a lot here under allocasuarina as well, I think itβs something about the litter being beneficial for the fungi. Tho in cultivation unless the fungus they use is in the pot Iβm not sure if it would have a similar effect π€
05.02.2026 21:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I got it like this, probably done to keep soil off the rosettes of leaves. Many grow under sheoaks, and Iβm guessing people think this may help promote beneficial fungi, not sure if this species is specific or not to a particular orchid mycorrhiza tho π€·π»ββοΈ
05.02.2026 10:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Omg such an amazing shot of them π
04.02.2026 22:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Really hard to get a good photo of this plant, but this is Utricularia gibba, a species of bladderwort that looks more like a green carnivorous hair ball than a plant tho π
04.02.2026 22:05 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0My little Pterostylis curta tubers are waking up! Well at least one is but that is still exciting!
04.02.2026 21:59 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The dots continue!
31.01.2026 09:18 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0These are just such cute flowers! Lomandra suaveolens is a widespread local species to Perth and the southwest, and due to this flowering strategy probably many would never notice them! This may eventually be host to Cassytha glabella but for now I can enjoy these blooms!
28.01.2026 22:40 β π 21 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Another new one in my care been a while since I kept triggerplants! Stylidium caespitosum
26.01.2026 23:00 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Dots dots and more dots!
