oh i'm also reading city of bones, which, lmao.
My favorite part is when the protagonist is told that the villain is fantasy-racist by an adult, who was once taken in by the villain, she's immediately like: "oh, ew, he's like one of those white power guys, and YOU fell for it."
go off honestly
I'm endeavoring to replace all scrolling with reading. I deleted all the apps off of my phone and it's been a bit shocking how much I reach for it in every quiet moment, before remembering there's nothing to look at
02.03.2026 14:42 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0some reviews really object to its portrayal of depression. But idk, I kind of relate to the Depression That Makes You Evil.
02.03.2026 14:42 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I read Ottessa Moshfegh's My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It was hard to put down, sometimes funny, and a deeply unpleasant read lol
02.03.2026 14:42 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0people are impressed by the way it writes because they aren't confident in their writing. they think it sounds smarter: "make concise" "improve word choice" "simplify sentence." all it does is erode confidence, make them second guess, and muddy their intent

I have to use gmail for work, and it completely stunlocks me. I honestly don't know what to do. I wrote "there was an error in our system" and it underlined it and suggested "Make more concise?" and its replacement was, "there was a system error."
Those don't actually imply the same thing
AI has been annoying, and has made the world worse, but it hasn't made MY life worse until gmail added the AI suggestion underlines. My brain has been trained for the last twenty years to think there is an error when text is squiggly underlined and now it's trying to make style suggestions
28.02.2026 16:13 β π 17 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0don't be mad at me, i love pokemon cards. I just think the whole thing is odd, and i'm worried about how we're all addicted to gambling now
27.02.2026 18:14 β π 16 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1how are we going to exert enough social pressure on adults to not price out kids with allowances? the honor system? asking them nicely? making the Pokemon company and retailers change the way they sell cards? they're the ones selling a gambling product for children!
27.02.2026 18:14 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The PokΓ©mon card secondary market exists because PokΓ©mon cards are a gambling product, so I think it's odd when people say that PokΓ©mon cards "should" be accessible to kids because they are "for" kids. The problem is that a gambling environment was intentionally created.

18.02.2026 16:13 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0abilify is nuts and i know there is a ton of talk online from people telling their stories about long lasting or permanent harm from prescribed abilify. That's a whole other can of worms. I just think it's really strange that the like... first three pages of google are these fake-ish write ups?
18.02.2026 16:13 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the first one is especially weird to me because it's an addiction treatment center and the page keeps calling back to "abuse" or "misuse" but never really explains what that means, who does it, how, or why. and like, abilify doesn't get you high?? No one is doing abilify recreationally afaik?
18.02.2026 16:13 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why Do People Abuse Abilify and Say βAbilify Ruined My Lifeβ? Individuals often report that Abilify (aripiprazole) negatively altered their lives due to uncontrolled or prolonged misuse, resulting in severe side effects. Some people who used it improperly experienced debilitating muscle spasms that impacted their routine. Others faced significant weight gain and metabolic changes, including the possibility of diabetes. Movement disorders, such as tardive dyskinesia (which may be irreversible), also appear in certain cases linked to overuse or misuse of Abilify.
Why Do People Say βAbilify Ruined My Lifeβ? The phrase βAbilify ruined my lifeβ resonates with many individuals who have experienced the severe side effects and challenges associated with this medication. While Abilify is intended to treat various mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and even symptoms of autism spectrum disorder, it can sometimes cause debilitating issues that overshadow its benefits. Common complaints include weight gain, tardive dyskinesia, and worsening mental health symptoms like increased anxiety, mood swings, and depressive symptoms.
βAbilify Ruined My Lifeβ β Abilify Risks & Reactions Post author:Peachtree Wellness Post published:February 24, 2025 Post category:Medication Aripiprazole, commonly known by its brand name Abilify, is a widely prescribed mental health medication used to treat various mental health conditions. While Abilify can be effective for many, there are others that say βability ruined my life.β
Why Do People Say Abilify Ruined My Life? Some people say Abilify (aripiprazole) ruined their life due to severe side effects and the overall impact on their well-being. Reported issues include significant weight gain, metabolic changes such as diabetes, and movement disorders like tardive dyskinesia, which can be irreversible. Others experience emotional effects including increased anxiety, depression, mood swings, loss of motivation, or worsening depressive symptoms. Muscle spasms and other physical discomforts can also be distressing.
so i recently tapered off of abilify and have encountered an odd phenomena of seemingly real (?) inpatient mental health treatment facilities with AI written (?) informational pages about abilify discontinuation that all use the phrase "abilify ruined my life"
