Iβve been working on this monthβs downloadable art book, which Iβm happy to say will be available tomorrow!

Threw a little watercolour on my recent Mucha studies. Couldβve been more careful looking back, but it is what it is.

Right, Iβm officially back the figures from imagination tangent. After spending the last few months doing lots of studies and little else, I feel the call to let go to see what falls onto the page for a while.
Iβve been doing that for a bit with head/portraits, but the real challenge has always
Found these old continuous-line animations collecting dust on my hard-drive.
I made them just after going freelance, roughly four years ago. They were a hassle to scan in, clean and arranged but see all my lines rotate was so addictive.
Should do more of these one day.

I feel that tend to slow down when using brushes (pen or traditional) to keep things sharp - unless Iβm after an effect.

Totally, and Iβm kinda zen about it not being perfectly close too. Itβs more fun to have it be inspired by what I can see than what it actually see. Exaggerated even. Still, might be fun to get all scientific with it all one day (probably not with watercolour though).
23.02.2026 21:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! Itβs so fun mixing colours and seeing those subtle hints of blue/green/etc in things. Have dabbled with it in Photoshop, but paint feels so much more tactical and enjoyable.
23.02.2026 20:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you! I guess Iβm always chasing where I could be and not where I am. I rarely (if ever) like what I do, but Iβm happy when people like it. Appreciate it.

Some of todayβs watercolour studies. I finally feel like Iβm getting somewhere with it all, even if every page still feels like a fluke.
I think that I prefer creating more abstract/colourful pages, but these naturalistic studies have been useful in getting my head around colour and what not.
