My mom was famous for “her” lasagna and people always asked her to bring it to gatherings. It was delicious. She told very few people that it was the recipe on the back of the pasta box.

After the fight that Chicagoland has put up, this is so disheartening.

We hosted Friendsgiving yesterday, and there was NO political talk. We didn’t ban any discussion topics, and I know we all agreed on current events (or they wouldn’t be at our table!). But it was healing to just be with friends, relax and laugh for a few hours. We’ll fight the fight another day. 💙🩵💙

So….the Christmas season just shoved Thanksgiving out of the way overnight and said “I’m here!” ❄️❄️❄️❄️

Himself as we (two alpha control freaks) crawl into bed, exhausted: We just hosted a terrific Thanksgiving dinner without a hitch AND without a fight. Neither of us even raised our voice—not even a dirty look! Maybe we’re finally figuring this out.

Me: I hope so, after 30 YEARS of marriage.😜

My husband was shocked when I just mentioned I didn’t try his green beans or my own cranberry sauce (plenty of leftovers though). I was like dude, did you SEE all the food on that table? I didn’t have room! 🤣

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, everyone! 🦃 The bird is cooked (we slow-roast overnight), and the house is almost ready. 🧹 We’re hosting a true Friendsgiving today, with old friends (40+ years) and new. 🩷 No one has to drive far, but we’ll keep an eye on the weather—the wind is howling. 🌬️

I put about a half cup of maple syrup in my cranberry sauce tonight.

I always experiment a bit with my boiled cranberry sauce. It was too sweet, so I put a tiny dash of cider vinegar in it, and now it might be too tart, but hopefully it will sweeten as it sits. 🫣 If not, I have some fancy maple sugar flakes I could sprinkle on the top… Thanksgiving stress already! 😂
