If more boxing fans were either curious enough about it or capable of even understanding, they'd see that a large portion of the sport's "behind the scenes" history is just a big game of telephone and a lot of it was complete bullshit.

Often I wonder if the time spent researching and essentially trying to teach others about what I've learned when it comes to boxing history is even worth the effort. The percentage of people simply wandering up like a fucking idiot and going "NUH UH" at everything I say just gets higher and higher.
