This is in an effort to reduce the potential for more wildfires in Nova Scotia. These restrictions apply to Halifax Water property near watersheds and provincially or federally owned lands within protected water areas that Halifax Water manages.

By reducing our water usage, we can help ease the demand on our lakes/source water and reduce or delay the need for mandatory water conservation measures.

A large parade float with a banner that says, 'Municipality of the County of Halifax' and another that says 'Development, Forestry, Agriculture'. There are miniature buildings, vehicles and trees on the flatbed of the float. A young woman wearing a light-coloured gown sits on a platform at the back of the float. The crowd watches on from the sidelines - some people are seated on a platform.

On this Natal Day installment of #MysteryMonday, can you guess where this elaborate Halifax County float was parading by for Natal Day 1958? Bonus points if you recognize any of the VIPs on that futuristic viewing platform. #HfxArchives

Use of consumer fireworks is prohibited during provincial burn ban. Permitted professional fireworks displays—like those planned for Natal Day—will move forward (dependent on wind, fog or rain). These shows are conducted by licensed, insured companies that follow federal safety regulations.
