So the people causing the shutdown are getting paid. The people keeping the country running don’t.

And Speaker Mike Johnson won’t let the House come back to work. So basically they’re on a paid vacation while Americans miss paychecks.

The government is shut down because Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking health care away from you.

So the American taxpayer eats it twice, once on tariffs and again on a second farm bailout. I’m glad farmers are getting help, no one should lose their farm, but it’s remarkable how fast “socialism” stops being a dirty word when the checks clear in red counties.

He's breaking the law in threatening to attack American cities with American troops for made-up reasons - please call it what it is. Even a Trump-appointed federal judge pushed back on the WH narrative. You can too!

Day 279 of Buy Nothing (from the broligarchs): I rarely buy coffee from a shop except when on a road trip. I make my owndrip coffee at home and at work, where I am lucky to have a nice coffee maker. That's a big savings in money and disposable cups

Day 277 of Buy Nothing (from the broligarchs): I am knitting more elaborate patterns to slow down using up my nice yarn, because I can't buy more of that. This will be a neck cowl, and the yarn is Merino, silk and yak! Very soft and warm (ignore the gold -waste yarn for the join; will be all teal)

This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.
