In the last 14 years, since I started taking interest in smash I have grown significantly as a person, but in smash, sometimes those years of growth don’t show. Letting my feelings run bare in an environment I was a child in is dangerous, I’m inconsiderate and thoughtless with my words

The joys of winning, the triumph of overcoming obstacles, the pain of loss, the sorrow of not living up to your goals. It’s all here, in this children’s party game I love so dearly. Smash is somewhere I let myself feel, where I let myself be me, and the reality is that “me” isn’t always to pretty

I cannot imagine where my life would be at without this game, it has changed the trajectory of my life for the better. But I also have to acknowledge its role in hindering me as a person as well. I am very unstable both mentally and emotionally, and smash is my major outlet for all of that

I have been entering smash tournaments since January 5th, 2016. I have been showing up to smash tournaments without entering since January 12th 2011, when I was 9. To say this game has meant a lot to me would be a massive understatement, and it’s had a massive role in developing me as a human being

This might be a long tangential thread, but only friends follow me here so i don’t really care about being classy on main. Keep reading if you want a glimpse into my thoughts and feelings at the moment, it’s a lot.

Also, we have known each other for about half a decade now. While things havnt always been perfect, I consider you a friend and would be down to do non smash things if your ever interested. The opportunity just hasn’t been obvious because I’m in point now. I do exist outside of video games

Smash is a wonderful thing, but it’s pretty unhealthy to be your only thing. While I don’t really take large breaks, the weeks I spend hanging out with friends and just being alive (aside from locals) are super helpful and I hope it does well for you, it sometimes helps with smash too funny enough
