Having worked in Westminster for too long I've always found the "village gossip/office politics" aspect by far the least interesting part of the job (beyond the occasional sugar rush of a proper scandal) - and yet it takes up so much of everyone's time and energy.

Remember finishing Haven't You Heard and thinking it was a very accurate account of Westminster life, but I worried how many people would imagine this was also the way it "should" be (not a flaw in the book, a flaw in how too many people going into politics think...). Good to read this as a coda.
