The more I think about it, the more I'll be surprised if Mathews or Tkachuk face any significant blowback from fans at their next home games. Maybe some scattered boos but don't expect jerseys on the ice or anything like that. Fans who can get tickets won't give a shit.

U.S. men's hockey with Curt-Schilling-in-Boston levels of good will squandering. A 25-mile lead in the good will marathon and they tripped on their dicks right at the finish line.
