Not just cats and dogs - horses and donkeys will do this too. Unfortunately in my case, it happened during the night and my hinny died in my arms the next morning. Afterwards, we could see the damage to the stall wall where she had been pressing her head against it. 😔

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Miniature Horse standing patiently in a horse trailer. He’s a brown and white Pinto, with a fluffy winter coat and a long mane and forelock. He’s so small that he can easily walk under the braces that would press against the chest of a regular-sized horse.

Five years ago today, I brought home our gorgeous miniature stallion. He’s such a wonderful little guy - comes when I call him, loves his cuddles and skritches, and is eager to get down to business. Here’s hoping 2026 shapes up so he can finally do so!

The snowdrifts are so high that the horses could just walk right over the fences, so we have them secured in the smaller paddock until we can clear the snow away from the fences.

When your snowblower is in the quonset, but the quonset is buried under a snowbank 2 to 4’ deep! It took a little over an hour for me to dig a path from the horses’ paddock gate to the quonset door. The snow ranges from 2 to nearly 4’ deep!

Trying to dig a trench next to the fence so we can let the horses out into their paddock without worrying about them simply walking over the fence! For reference, the top of that fence is about 5’ high!

Trixstir in the trench more than 5’ deep in the horses’ paddock. She’s about ready to call it quits for the evening, and I don’t blame her! We’ve been at this all day, with her digging a trench inside the paddock, and me digging a trench to the Quonset so we can get some of the actual machinery out. 😅🥶

One last set… These were from March 18, 2023 when a snowstorm buried the farm. We had to keep the horses inside for a while, because the snow-pack was higher than the fences, and they could have just walked out right over them!

Christmas Morning 2019 saw the entire farm covered in THICK hoar-frost from the heavy fog the night before! Rudolph earned his keep that Christmas Eve!
