So damn fortunate to have my doctor—he’s gay, based at Spectrum Health in Van, incredibly kind, and never rushes. Finding a good doctor in BC is hard; finding a great one that understands you is even harder. I feel like I won the lotto. Feeling grateful.

There’s also a mom and two pups. Also a very old otter who is friendly and hangs out at their dock, eating the scraps on harvesting days each week.

My folks have a shellfish farm, and there is lots of otter friends live in the lagoon.

Visited my parents this weekend on a Gulf Island off the BC Coast. They live in a lagoon, and after the ferry, the quickest way to their off-grid home is by boat through the neck.
