conversely...... i can't think of any examples off the top of my head of games with like, a larger number of smaller chapters that are less strongly defined, but like... hm. that's gonna bother me >|>c chrono trigger, maybe?? but those chapters are kind of "hidden"

it depends on how big/separate/distinct the *chunks* of story are for me- like, the different character stories in something like Live a Live or Octopath Traveler, those have "final bosses" to me, or something like... the first three chapters of Mother 3, or the Acts in Kingdoms of the Dump

i'll also accept "final boss of act [#]" or other words for "part of story" like Chapter or w/e LOL. it's a little malleable but like, "final boss" should be saved for major climaxes with real finality- The scope should be more significant than just "this area has multiple bosses & this is the last"

oh yea- when i say "final boss of the game" that's what i mean, like. Story ends, ending plays, credits roll. postgame stuff or w/e moves into the realm of having "bonus" or "super" appended to the beginning, "final bonus boss" or "final superboss", etc

dumb pet peeve: stop calling bosses "final bosses" unless they're actually the final boss of the GAME. you don't need to use "final boss" for the last boss of an AREA just because there are other, smaller bosses that come before it- that's what we have "mini-boss" for >@>
