For the last 7 months, I’ve partnered with @rweingarten.bsky.social @aft.org to launch Vital Lessons, a series of free national town halls on key topics in public health.

Last week, we found out this series was awarded the Gold Medal by the Academy of Interactive and Digital Media.

Real impact!!

The staff of the CDC - all public servants with impeccable credentials - often do unheralded work.

It’s that very work which makes us clinicians much smarter - they let us know of new threats, give us key disease trends, and help shape our diagnostic acumen.

A functioning CDC is good medicine.

A lot of Republican Members of Congress are in a total bubble.

Right-wing media can paint a rosy picture of our economy, sure.

But reality is gonna come crashing down on Republicans when their constituents see their premiums more than double, or even quadruple.

The Seattle Mariners are not only a special team but a very special organization. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know their leadership over the last 5 years and their commitment to excellence on and off the field.

This week, the American Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts gave “Vital Lessons” a Gold Medal as part of its annual W3 Awards for excellence in digital media and storytelling.

The purpose of this work has always been to provide clear health information to the public. Grateful to see its impact!

Only one political party is actually expressing any empathy and concern on the way this shutdown is immediately impacting tens of millions of patients nationwide.

The tragic irony is most of these patients live in states that support the current party in power. That party remains silent.

Our neighbors in Idaho are going to face skyrocketing monthly health care costs unless we extend the ACA tax credits.

Please know that we’re carrying the vital information you share out into our communities.
It takes a village….:-)

Big thank you to the great @murray.senate.gov for joining Meidas Health today with my great friend and physician leader @drkavitapatel.bsky.social to break down the terrible impacts of rhe government shutdown on our nations health.

Murray: I talked to a family that’s paying about $300 a month for their health insurance. It’s going to jump to over $1,800 per month.

Many people will turn away and not pay for it—obviously, they’ll lose their health insurance. The fewer people who have insurance, the more everybody pays.

Do we need to split the MMR vaccine into 3 shots?

No.

-No medical reason. Current vax has no safety issues and works very well
-Kids don’t like needles. Why give them 3x the shots?
-Peds office already have limited bandwidth. Who staffs 3x the visits?

Mark Kelly: “lf you are undocumented in our country, you cannot get healthcare from the Affordable Care Act exchange. You are not eligible for Medicare. You are not eligible for Medicaid. They’re just making that up. They just like to blame brown people.”

Health insurance premiums for a single person will more than double on average next year if the enhanced premium tax credits expire.

This will be on top of the rising prices Americans pay for household goods, gas prices, electricity, housing, and groceries.

Just got back from my MAHA approved 5K. Added in some pushups for good measure and hydrated. Wore normal workout clothes too, no jeans.

This very kind law enforcement officer approached me this morning during a gum workout.

He noted he grew up conservative. But over the last few years, things have changed. He cited some of the “trusted” health media work we’ve been doing for @msnbc.com as part of that change.

Trust is everything.
