At 50, as my eyesight worsens, I now understand why I spent a lot of my childhood looking for contact lenses (they weren’t disposables then) for my dad on the bathroom floor 🤦‍♀️ I thought I had extra special eyesight powers. Nope. I was just young!

A small hot chocolate in a cold cafe cost me £4.75 yesterday. 🤯 In the winter I spend more time in cafes because my flat is cold. Don’t tell me how much heating £4.75 gives me because in uninsulated buildings with no actual central heating (isolated electric radiators) it’s not true 😒 #costofliving

Let's talk real numbers in social investment. 💰 I've noticed a nervousness among charity & social enterprise leaders to ask direct money-related questions about borrowing. I can practically hear the question everyone is holding back: "How much did you borrow?" 🤔

A quote from the New Statesman about the amount spent on benefits to mental health being £12bn and to pensioners £163bn less and 58% of the welfare budget.

Just let that sink in. I’ve no interest in pitching people against each other, but facts is facts and there’s an obvious place to look to raise some cash 👀
