The Blackhawks were seeking a bounce-back game after their last two and that's exactly what they delivered tonight.

The Blackhawks defeat the Rangers, 3-0. Spencer Knight with a 21-save shutout. Goals by Louis Crevier, Connor Bedard and Tyler Bertuzzi.

As Levshunov was getting off the ice, he passed the puck ahead to Bedard. Bedard entered the offensive zone, gave it to Greene in the slot, who shot it on the net and Bertuzzi, who had just gotten on the ice, cleaned it up.

Bertuzzi, 3-0.

The Blackhawks have a paid attendance of 19,709 at the Untied Center tonight. Crowds have been consistently good for a while now.

The Blackhawks lead the Rangers 2-0 after two periods. Hawks up 18-17 in shots on goal.

Burakovsky with a ton of speed into the offensive zone, gets wide and feeds Bedard as he enters the slot. Bedard with his 19th of the season.

Dach and Mikheyev win the puck behind the Rangers' net and get it to the slot and Donato comes in to finish.

Crevier jumped up in the neutral zone and nearly had a breakaway at first. He waited by the Rangers' blue line to see if it the puck might end up in the Blackhawks' favor again. It did, he got it and he beat Shesterkin one-on-one.

And now the Blackhawks take a penalty. Kaiser to the box for slashing.

The Blackhawks finally got their power play set up with 20 seconds left in it after multiple failed entries.

Oliver Moore draws the game's first penalty. Blackhawks to the power play at 2:31 of the second period.

With the Blackhawks back to 12/6, you can already see the defensemen's ice time evening out. The whole first period was 5v5 and the six defensemen ranged from 5:55 to 7:36 in ice time.

The Blackhawks and Rangers are tied 0-0 after one period. Hawks up 10-6 in shots on goal.

The Blackhawks haven't given up much, just four shots on goal, through 16:12 of the first period, and what they have given up, Spencer Knight has been there to stop.

I don't believe there will be a corresponding move. That could mean going back to six defensemen for at least Wednesday's game. I think the Blackhawks have gone 11/7 26 times and 12/6 three times this season.
