I purchased this yesterday from my local brick and mortar. The Arkham Team have created an amazing game here, definitely more tactical than narrative, and also a literal tome of Mythos knowledge that would benefit any enthusiast. I’d love to get this to the table! #ArkhamHorror

I’ve got the Starter and Core for Tales from the Loop, also lovely, of course. Never got it to the table, but that’s why they call it….say it with me: Shelf Candy!!

Anything my beloved Free League Publishing makes. Their starter sets are works of art and the core books are so lovely…some with cloth bookmarks (which my cat LOVES). I recommend Vaesen and One Ring for shelf candy.

Ha!! I think this guy doesn’t even have The Sight and the Wendigo / Troll is using Enchantments to lure him out into an unseen crevasse. The letter he writes from the hospital bed will be the Introduction for the Mythic Sleuths to a New Mystery. “The Hunting Grounds”.

I’ve been getting more and more intrigued at the thought of playing online. I run two in person tables currently, it might be neat to play in or run another. I really like how different groups handle the same Mystery.

Online ttrpgs don’t cost you a dime and are fairly featherweight on the ole’ physique. Just sayin’.

I did my very best to make my place space as minimally “screeny” as possible. Lots of candles, paper and pencils and physical dice. Discord is pretty good in video chat where it’s simply a black background with the video windows. No menus, etc.

Online #TTRPG gaming platforms seem to work pretty well!

Played an amazing game of #Vaesen last night over Discord. I much prefer in person play for my #ttrpgs, but playing online has me looking at the Alchemy platform again. What’s your take on Alchemy and playing online in general?

Facebook reminded me that ten years ago I started to write the #ttrpg game scenario that will become my first novel. Still working through the first draft, but it’s not a sprint!!! I’ll get there when I get there.

100% this. I make a little chart for the tables I run that includes the character’s best / worst skills, talents, and backstory tidbits. It’s handy to have when I want to pull someone into the spotlight, I can whip up a scene or an instance where that player can show off!!

Oh that’s pretty handy! I mine my player’s backstories pretty heavily for Mystery ideas, and oh my goodness, don’t sleep on that Mystery Generator in the back of the rule book! It’s really fun to play with! Which is your favorite Vaesen so far?

Excellent! It’s great to support independent authors. I home brew everything. As much as I lament that my players “never read the rules”, I have just as much trouble remembering stories that aren’t mine!! Ha! Hoisted on my own petard!!

It’s been a runaway favorite of mine since I first picked the book up! It was so wonderfully novel to have a “Monster Manual” that I was completely unfamiliar with! Do you run premade scenarios, or have you been crafting your own mysteries?

It might have gotten swallowed up in all the good content, but “Four on Three” from Ted Lasso makes me giggle just thinking about it. It’s writing I aspire to.
